Vayusphere Inc., a Silicon Valley-based provider of enterprise instant messaging (EIM), said its Instant Response Server (IRiS) now integrates with IBM Lotus' Sametime real-time collaboration software. As part of the deal, Vayusphere also joins the IBM PartnerWorld program.
With the combination, Vayusphere IRiS works with Sametime to connect event-driven enterprise applications to distributed workers using any desktop or mobile device for which a Sametime client is available. Sametime is in use at 60 Global Fortune 100 companies and has over seven million corporate users worldwide, officials said.
Vayusphere IRiS enables companies with large distributed work forces to rapidly resolve mission-critical business problems where the cost of delayed response is high. IRiS is particularly appropriate for reducing costs of IT Help Desk, field service, field maintenance and repair, field sales, and supply chain event management for companies in the Financial Services, Healthcare, Law Enforcement, Manufacturing, Telecom, Transportation and Utilities industries.
Vayusphere officials said IRiS is the industry's first platform to combine a presence, availability and location (PAL) server; a response-agent Server; IM; and enterprise-application integration capabilities in a single integrated platform. By enabling both application-push (find and notify) and worker-pull (investigate and resolve) interactions between enterprise applications and distributed workers, Vayusphere provides the industrys first software platform for closed-loop Instant Response, the company added.
